چکیده

Deforestation is extreme in tropical and subtropical regions emerging economies. In Ethiopia, the rate of forest degradation has accelerated recent years as a result rising demand for agriculture, fuel wood, charcoal, along with population growth. Excessive destructive resource exploitation currently danger at Dati Wolel National Park. The overall objective this study was to analyze determinants spatiotemporal dynamics deforestation Park western Ethiopia through employing remote sensing socioeconomic data. Three series LANDSAT images (1987 TM, 2002 ETM+, 2019 ETM+) which are obtained from USGS were used supervised classification done. Besides, Key informant interviews, observation, focus group discussion data collection tools study, analyzed by qualitative research approach. revealed that Agricultural land be most expanding use type park. It increased 9.6% (1987) 18.6% (2019) about 551.3 ha per year. area covered land, wetland, water bodies been reduced annual average 733.5 ha, 50.2 162.2 respectively. issue inextricably tied human activities, such pressure reasons. So that, overcome problem cover change its implications, corrective actions should implemented both short term long phases have recommended.

Spatiotemporal Pattern Analysis of Rapid Urban Expansion Using GIS and Remote Sensing

Rapidly growing urban areas tend to reveal distinctive spatial and temporal variations of land use/land cover in a locally urbanized environment. In this article, the author analyzes urban growth phenomena at a local scale by employing Geographic Information Systems, remotely sensed image data from 1984, 1994, and 2004, and landscape shape index. Since spatial patterns of land use/land cover ch...
